What to expect
Thank you for considering worshipping with us at First Baptist Church. Visiting anywhere for the first time can be a bit overwhelming. Below are a few tips to help you out. Any of our volunteers and staff would love to help you as you arrive as well.
Parking
There are several parking spots available right outside our main entrance. On Sunday morning we reserve these spaces for those with needs requiring assistance to the doors. We have additional parking along the side of the church building. There is also ample parking along the street, along the river walk and next to the library.
Children
We believe children are a blessing and love to have them in worship with us. We do have a nursery staffed with 2 volunteers available for children birth to 4 years old. Throughout the School year Children 5 years old through third grade will leave the main worship area about halfway through service and attend a time of learning crafted especially for their needs. The first Sunday of the month there is no Children's Church as we come together to take part in the Lord's Supper. That week there is a special message prepared for them. There are bags with activities to keep children engaged during service as well. We love to have our children present during worship and understand they occasionally make a little noise. Never be embarrassed or ashamed when a child expressed themself all are welcome to come as they are and be who they are. It is a joy to have them in worship with us.
What to Wear
We have a wide variety of dress at First Baptist. Some choose to dress formally some are casual. Everyone is welcome to dress however they feel appropriate for themselves.
What to Expect
Service lasts about an hour. We have a time of musical worship including a mixture of contemporary and traditional worship songs. There is a time of prayer and a Biblically based message each week. Occasionally we have special music and other surprises throughout service.
